About

Cult of the Turtle is about my own personal search for fun, happiness and fulfillment.

I have a lot to say about what I think Fun is and why I think this is a good path to follow, as I write posts about this, I’ll update this page to allow for a comprehensive list, or you can check “the search” category

Personas
I have gone by several monikers in my life on the web, and I still use them occasionally here. They represent facets of myself, ones that I hope will grow into a cohesive whole as I write. I no longer desire to give each of these personas their own space on the web.

  • Bill, which is my real name
  • GenericJoe, which was my first real identity, and the first time I performed this experience. I no longer needed the name once I become the person I envisioned GenericJoe as being. I think I’m on that same quest now, but more complexly, and with a better awareness of what I am doing.
  • “Generic” Joe Tortuga, a name which I used to move away from the obviously net-username “GenericJoe” to a name I could write under in the real world. For that reason, sometimes the “Generic” is dropped — truthfully, it is used only when I’m returning to an older community that remembers the older name.
  • Him, which is a name I used on my short-lived erotica blog [[NOTE: This link no longer works, but all posts have been merged with this blog]], and which represents the Dominant side of my personality. Just as submissives get into sub-space, dominants get into Dom-space, and when I do that, then I am Him.

Posts
This site has a mixture of all the kinds of things I’ve written online. From introspective journal entries, to arguments and essays, to fiction both erotica and not, to the occasional picture, poem or purge. I’m not sure what I’ll write, but it will be about me. I will also go to great lengths to tag or categorize posts as I create them.

This is important because some of what I do is specifically for adults. I’m not creating a gateway here, although the blocking services are welcome to block this site as an ‘adult’ site — I don’t want children into my adult stuff. Adults, however, should have a choice of what they want to see and read. So with posts that I feel belong in the “adult” category, instead of posting the first couple of paragraphs and linking to a full version, I’ll be posting a brief description and a message to come here.

I want to respect my readers, and allow them to make informed choices. If you are in a place where you feel you can view adult material, or the description above implies that it is safe where you are, then feel free to read. This is your decision, and rightfully so. It frees me to write about what I want. As a publisher, I will do my best to mark posts intelligently.
